Heading down to the Columbia River normally involves the I5. The idea didn't fill me with much excitement given the regular slow downs and accidents, added to the lack of much scenery unless you go 'off road'.
With that in mind, I planned a different route taking me over Snoqualmie Pass, then down to the river 'the back way'. The return would depend on the weather...
